Your desert tour begins with a morning pickup from your Marrakech accommodation. From there, you'll journey through the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, take in panoramic views of valleys, Berber villages, and snow-capped peaks.

Descending into the arid plains, your first major stop is the legendary ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. This centuries-old fortified village, a UNESCO-listed site, has appeared in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After a guided visit, continue toward Ouarzazate for lunch.

In the afternoon, you’ll pass through the lush oasis of Skoura and the fragrant Valley of Roses. Travel along the famed “Road of 1001 Kasbahs” before arriving in the rugged Dades Valley. Here, you'll settle in for the night at a local hotel or guesthouse, with dinner included.

After breakfast, continue your journey eastward, stopping at the charming Berber town of Tinghir. From here, explore the lush Todra Oasis and walk through the dramatic Todra Gorges, where towering rock walls create a breathtaking canyon.

You’ll then travel through desert landscapes to Erfoud—famous for its fossil workshops—and make a brief stop in the historical town of Rissani, once a key trading hub.

By afternoon, you’ll reach Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara. Your camel caravan awaits to take you across the sweeping dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, capture the magic of the Sahara before arriving at your desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music, and a night under the stars.

Today is all about experiencing the desert at your own pace. After a relaxed breakfast, you’ll return to a hotel in Merzouga for some rest and rejuvenation. Take a dip in the pool, relax with a tea, or choose from a variety of optional desert adventures such as quad biking, sandboarding, or 4x4 dune excursions (at your own expense).

Drive time: approx. 8 hours

Rise early to catch the stunning sunrise over the dunes, an unforgettable moment. After breakfast, begin your scenic drive north toward Fes. The road takes you through the lush Ziz Valley and past the town of Errachidia.

Continue to Midelt, a quiet mountain town known for its apple orchards and rich mineral deposits, where you’ll stop for lunch. In the afternoon, travel through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, and keep an eye out for native Barbary macaques.

Before reaching Fes, you'll make a stop in Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and pristine atmosphere. This unique town, founded by the French in 1929, is also one of the cleanest cities in the world.

The tour concludes in the historic city of Fes, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or riad in the early evening.
